Information Security Research Group


InfoSec Introduction


The Information Security (InfoSec) research group is within the Software Engineering & Information Systems chair (Institute of Computer Science, University of Tartu). The group conducts research and teaching in the field of information security with an emphasis on secure system design and requirements engineering. The group is researching information system security risk management, personal data management, and the management of privacy leakage. The main research areas include (but are not limited to) secure business process management, model-driven security, security risk management in blockchain applications, privacy management in intelligent transportation systems and blockchain-based applications, secure and private data analysis, and visualisation for privacy and security by design systems.

  • 26.March 2026 - M. Seeba presented her research to the control group who participated in her study during cybersecurity training in Guatemala, Antigua, for Central American SMEs. read more
  • 26 March, 2026 - Vjatšeslav Antipenko and Lukas Daubner participated in Locked Shields Partnerrun 2026. The Estonian Defence League & University of Tartu managed to secure the victory for the second year in a row; see more here and here
  • 19 March, 2026 – Lukáš Daubner presented a “Forensic-Ready Information Security: Risk-Based Approach for Information Systems” at CHESS RIA Demo Day in Tallinn.
  • 19 March, 2026 - Vjatšeslav Antipenko participated at Tark Tööstus, gave a presentation Küberriskid tööstuses | 6-sammuline teekond süsteemis nõrkade kohtade leidmiseks enne ründajat.
  • 14 March, 2026 – Lukáš Daubner held a Security Scanning Workshop for the University of Tartu and Kaitseliit Locked Shields Blue Team
  • 24 February, 2026 – Lukáš Daubner presented a “Forensic-Ready Information Security: Risk-Based Approach for Information Systems” for NÚKIB online seminar
  • 29.January 2026 - M. Seeba gave a talk in the Startup Day seminar "We’ll Deal With Cybersecurity Later” – Strategy or a Ticking Time Bomb?" about her recently completed PhD Thesis. read more
