The idea behind digital twins is to create a digital replica of a physical entity. This digital representation can be utilized for advanced analysis, anticipating future outcomes, controlling the physical entity, and making semi-automated adjustments, among other things. On the other hand, creating and sustaining digital twins and their security requirements can be challenging. Therefore, model-driven engineering (MDE) is required to fully realize the potential of digital twins and their security aspects in a methodical and quality-controlled manner.
