  • In the real world, we are surrounded by people, buildings, hospitals, factories, enterprises, automobiles, cognitive cities, and billions of devices that provide different services and connect us to this world. Advanced technologies like augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), extended reality (XR), and the Internet of things (IoT) offer innovative solutions for creating a new virtual environment, also known as the Metaverse. These technologies enable various unique services that require collecting data about real objects, individuals, biometric information (such as eye or voice fingerprints), and the surrounding environment (such as weather or traffic flow). Data collected from both the virtual and real worlds creates strict data security and privacy boundaries. In this topic, you will explore the security and privacy requirements of the gathered data in the metaverse.
